My thread and prewound bobbins arrived Monday. It’s Sunday and I finally got Melody’s quilt loaded on the longarm. I threaded the machine and got the bobbin in place. I was so excited to get started. I did the basting and switched to precision mode and the tension issues started.
There was a mess underneath.

I adjusted and adjusted the top tension. Checked the threading a couple of times. Started watching a YouTube video. Then I looked at the threading again. I pulled on the thread at the big tension knob and it moved down between the discs.

I tried stitching again. It was much better. I tightened the tension a little more and tried stitching yet again. The problem solved. Attention to detail matters when threading. Such a learning curve on my new machine.
Luckily there was not too much to rip out. My date with Jack was short. But, the day is gone and I’ll have to start again on my next free day. I hope that day is Wednesday. The good news is the quilt is loaded. Tension resolved. I should be ready to go.
