Above is my first attempt at a quilted notecard. For those that follow me, you know I have been trying to reduce my fabric stash. Two scrap busting quilts and a mini quilt later. It is still overwhelming.
I started another quilt but, it has been slow going. So I have taken a break to try and reorganize my scraps. I watched Karen Brown’s (Just Get It Done Quilts) YouTube sessions on scrap management. I spent my Friday working on some of her ideas. She mentioned quilted postcards and I wandered through several, well many, YouTube sessions on quilted postcard making. I decided on nnnnotnotenotecards as my style.

We had some greeting cards from our photography material stash. I simply borrowed those cards. I cut them in 1/2 as I didn’t want quarter fold. I made a raw edge appliqué with fusible batting, stitched it to card stock paper cut to size. Double stick taped to notecard and I have a personalized card.
All I have to do is write my message and drop in mail. Well, this first quilted card, I will take to post office to ascertain the cost of mailing. I am fairly certain one stamp will do but, I want it to get to the recipient in a timely fashion so I will verify the cost.
Practice makes perfect and these are fun to make. So I’m off to try my hand at making some more quilted notecards.
