My friend, Teresa, had a birthday recently. She decorates her house for the holidays. It’s fun to see the changes with the holidays and seasons. She seems to like the few mini quilts I have made in the past so for this birthday I gifted her with mini quilts that would further some of the decorating themes she uses.

The first being for March and the luck of the Irish. Followed by fall Sunflowers.

The mug rug pattern is by KLee2 Strings called Shamrock and Sunflowers. The mug rugs patterns are for 6” by 10” size. I enlarged by adding borders. I free motion quilted Shamrocks in the green border. After that I didn’t feel confident enough to do sunflowers in the blue border but I will keep practicing my FMQ.
Last, but not least, I did an Americana star for the for our great July 4th. A day where we celebrate our great nation and I celebrate another circle around the Sun.

Teresa, may you celebrate many more happy years.
I love my new mini quilts. I love all of them!!!
If I get all of them to match my year round trees not sure how to hint for more😁. Kathy is the best love handmade gifts!!! Thank you

Thank you Teresa. It’s a real compliment from one craft person to another. I’m so glad you like them.

That is a nice way to help a friend celebrate. I’ve done quite a few mini wall hangings that I combined with machine embroidery. Another friend keeps them on hand as a gift to those that visit her. I’ll be going back there soon. 😉 Yours are so cute I might have to take a page out of your book.

Thanks for stopping by. I think mini quilts are a good change of pace to large throws. What a nice idea to give one to people that visit.
