Closing Out 2022 and Welcoming 2023

Abram’s Fall Trail in Cades Cove

My husband, sister-in-law, and I closed out 2022 by spending time in nature. We traveled to Cades Cove, Tennessee. While we didn’t see any bears, we saw plenty of deers and turkeys.

At Main Street Meat

We opened the new year by going to Chattanooga, Tennessee to see our youngest son. We ate at the restaurant, Main Street Meats, where he is Sous Chef and stayed at Chattanooga Choo Choo, a few blocks from MSM. Then we spend two days with Zack exploring Chattanooga restaurants and sites.

We had a wonderful time. We got home only to have Bert, Julie and Zack test positive for Covid. I didn’t but, I had COViD last January. Everybody doing fine now.

January 23rd we had a false start on our bathroom renovations. The person we contracted with to do the renovations got here and started setting up. Then it turns out the plumber couldn’t come until the 31st. One day we will get the renovations done. In the meantime, I’m working on determination, persistence, and patience.

I am also working on another quilt. I started during our COViD quarantine. It is a pattern, Around the World, that I have never done so I am excited.

I hope you were able to enjoy closing out 2022 and 2023 is off to a good start for you.

  1. Lovely. I remember my mom and I hiking to Abrams Falls in the late 60’s while my dad and brother were fishing elsewhere. We both enjoyed hiking and took a packed lunch with us which we ate sitting on some rocks when we arrived at the falls.
